Races of Middle-Earth: ELVES

Elves, aka the Unfallen Race, can be considered as angels of Middle-Earth. Their race is all together graceful, timeless, heavenly and mysterious. Elves are the oldest and wisest among all dwellers.

They are highly inclined in arts and lore. No doubt that elves are powerful creatures gifted with sharp senses.

They're divided into two branches: The West-Elves (Eldar) and the East-Elves (those from Mirkwood and Lorien). There are two elven languages: the High-elven (Quenya), considered to be an ancient tongue and the Grey-elven (Sindarin).

Every elf's desire is to move unto the Grey Havens when they grew tired of the mortal lands.

Races of Middle-Earth: DWARVES

The dwarves are a race of robust underground inhabitants who spend their lives mining precious treasures like Mithril, a light but resilient, priceless metal. The race's origin is enigmatic and is not well-discovered. Men foolishly believed that they are born out of the rocks because there are very few female Dwarves.

They are known for their excellent craftsmanship. The weapons and armor they've built are renowned . They are also extremely good diggers and are gifted with extraordinary engineering skills.

Gimli, son of Gloin, will be regarded as Elf-friend because of the strong bond of friendship he will eventually establish with Legolas (both are members of the Fellowship of the Ring) and his veneration to the Lady Galadriel.

Arwen's Song | LOTR: Return of the King OST

Arwen's Song
by Liv Tyler

LOTR: The Return of the King Official Soundtrack

I personally love this song. Actually sung by Arwen herself, Liv Tyler. A very soothing music. The Lord of the Rings trilogy soundtrack is one of the best and powerful music for a film ever composed. Thanks to the very talented Howard Shore.

Races of Middle-Earth: Hobbits

Hobbits are peace-loving and easy going race known to man as Halflings and to Elves as Periannath.

Hobbits are small people -literally- with big hearts. They prefer simple lives and have a strong and tender affection to their homeland: the Shire - Middle-Earth's rural area. They possess pure innocence and strong love for life.

All their homes are dug along side of the earth. Apparently, the word hobbit is from the word holbytla, that means 'hole-builder'.

Races of Middle-Earth: WIZARDS

a.k.a Istari

A very powerful race whose purpose of inhabiting Middle-Earth is to unite the other variety of races against Dark Lord Sauron.

Appears as old men and who age slowly. Wizards possess several hand and mental powers.

It is believed that there are 5 Wizards that existed. The two highest among them are Curinir (Man of Skill) or known as Saruman and Mithrandir (The Grey Pilgrim) or Gandalf the Grey.

Saruman is the more powerful of the two and resides at a tower in Isengard, in the East. Gandalf, on the other hand, prefers to roam in the West. He is the bearer of The Ring of Fire given by Cirdan, greatest of the High-elves, which enables him to "rekindle the hearts in a world that grows chill".

Grey Wizards will only be able to transmute into more powerful White Wizards if they successfully pass through the "Shadow".

One Ring to Rule Them All

The Inscription on the Ring:

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,
Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

The lines describing the rings:
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

The One Ring was crafted by Dark Lord King Sauron himself in the fires of Mount Doom in the land of Mordor.

He purposefully made the One Ring to become the most powerful among the Rings of Power, enabling him to control the other kings and leaders who each own them. He is able to rule over the other Lords as long as he wears it.

He placed most of his powers on the Ring upon its creation, hence he became very dependent to it. Not wearing it, his powers are weak. But, as long as the One Ring continue to exist, Dark Lord Sauron existence remains.
